This beautiful coyote was spotted not far from my home in Calgary. They are incredible animals who have adapted very well to living in the city. I love to listen to them yip yipping in the summer evenings when I have my windows open. Perhaps I am particularly fond of coyotes because they remind me of our family dog we had while growing up. A husky/collie mix who used to howl back at the wolves across the other side of the river from our home. It gave you shivers to listen to them.
Painting in the round with our varying styles is symbolic not only of our “Gather Round” theme but also our continuous movement toward improving our art and connecting with both our community and our deeper selves. We paint in different styles, but the show is unified by all of us painting in the round. We want to be able to celebrate the diversity in our work while still feeling connected. We have met online and want to use this art show as an opportunity to strengthen our community in an in-person event.
