By definition, moments are fleeting, and the best moments are so joyous we want to 'capture' them and forever keep them close to our hearts. I love to capture those key moments that are so full of emotion that you immediately identify with it. It might spark laughter, adoration, wonder, joy, or amazement.
I begin by observaton, camera in hand watching wildlfe. I watch how they move and behave, paitently waiting for special moments to occur. This often means taking a LOT of photos! Thank goodness for the digital age!
Loons are such soulful creatures with voices, capable of transporting us to such happy places. Capturing one with their wings up is such an extra special treat. It's such a "lucky" moment that has inspired many artists.
I painted this loon rising with the sun. A moment of regeneration and possibilities. Fresh opportunity, fresh starts, and second chances.
