The idea for this painting came to me years ago when I was painting en plein air in Fish Creek park. It was a very quiet weekday which likely was why an osprey decided this was the best moment for him to sneak in a quick bath.
He landed in the shallow creek not far in front of me. Then proceeded to splash around and flap his feathers. He didn't seem to mind at all that I was there. When he was done he shook himself off and flew past me and downstream. I could have reached out and touched him. I was so excited to have shared this special moment with this incredible bird!
Not one photo was taken. I just enjoyed the moment. ❤️
